OTHERNESS made their way from the furthest reaches of Argentina’s Patagonia to Buenos Aires four years ago. Since then they have worked constantly, recording, playing. and touring. The hard work has begun to pay off with notice in their adopted city and as far away as London and New York City. Their first South American EP released in 2008 sold out almost immediately. Now they have set their sites on bringing their special brand of techno-punk to the US and Europe. In late 2010 the band embak on a Euopean tour and three months concentrated gigging in England. It’s a goal Martin Cativa, Gonzalo Cativa and Adrian Bersais have had since their days growing up in Comodoro Rivadavia Argentina.

While growing up Martin and Gonzalo along with childhood friend Adrian Bersais took comfort in the fact that Kurt Cobain, their musical hero, was able to escape the gloomy confines of a dull grey town that offered very little future. Comodoro Rivadavia was a boom town gone bust in the 1990’s. There was little time or opportunity to put into dreams of playing music. Even Gonzalo’s pursuit of playing the classical violin seemed unnecessary. But their drive led them t discover the music of artists as diverse as Nirvana, Arthur Alexander, John Lennon, Huddy Ledbetter and the Argentine grand master of tango, Astor Piazzola. By paying careful attention to the craft of artists like these has led Martin and Gonzalo Cativa to become the authors of hundreds of quirky, exciting songs that are entirely the product of their own imagination.

Their first self-titled EP is being released on the eve of a tour that will take them across North America for the first time.
