Ocie was the tenor banjo player with Milton Brown and His Musical Brownies. The group recorded it's first 78 RPM record in 1934. After Milton's death Ocie went on to form his own band - Ocie Stockard and the Wanderers. In 1946 he joined Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys
