Cincinnati based quintet, active 1985 - 1989. Now For Then played an interesting melange of diverse pop styles, whatever one might call the intersection of Roxy Music, King Crimson, The Smiths, and Game Theory. The band consisted of Dan Tudor (vocals, occasional guitar and keyboards), Bone aka Glenn Quinn (guitars, backing vocals), Paul Roberts (keyboards, backing vocals), Andy Shepherd (1985-86: bass, backing vocals), Joe Sievering (1985-86: drums, backing vocals).

The band suffered two early setbacks with the tragic and sudden loss of Shepherd who died in car accident in 1986, followed by the departure of Sievering for a previous band. Roberts filled in on keyboard bass for a while, before veteran bass player Randy Campbell (Ruff Midget, Screaming Mimes) joined in early 1987, also joined by drummer Dale Shepherd (Andy Shepherd's brother).

In 1987, the band released a 7" vinyl disc with single "Money Makes Me Pretty", backed with "Passion". Both songs received some airplay on college radio stations nationally, but a lack of distribution for the single worked against the success of the release. Now For Then recorded extensively and had sufficient material for an album, but the band parted ways in 1989, leaving the material unreleased. Tudor, Campbell, and Bone went on to play together again in Eight Jaded Quakers in the early 90s.
