Biography

Hardcore punks No Use For A Name formed in Sunnyvale, CA, in 1987, originally comprising singer/guitarist Tony Sly, guitarist Chris Dodge, bassist Steve Papoutsis, and drummer Rory Koff. Making their recorded debut later that year with "Turn It Around" -- their contribution to a double 7" released by Maximum Rock'n'Roll magazine -- No Use For A Name next resurfaced in 1989 with the single "Let 'Em Out," followed a year later by their full-length debut, Positivity. After 1991's Don't Miss The Train, the group signed with Fat Wreck Chords for 1993's The Daily Grind; lineup changes regularly plagued No Use For A Name, and by the middle of the decade only Sly and Koff remained from the original roster. After 1994's Leche Con Carne, the band kept a relatively low profile before resurfacing three years later with Making Friends, recorded with new guitarist Chris Shiflett and bassist Matt Riddle. Shortly after completing 1999's More Betterness!, Shiflett exited No Use For A Name to join Foo Fighters; he was replaced by former Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Dave Nassie. The NRA Years followed in 2000, and the following tour was promoted with a live album a few months later. The band stepped back into the studio at the end of 2001 and reappeared the next year with Hard Rock Bottom. Sly issued a split acoustic album, aptly titled Acoustic Soul, with Lagwagon's Joey Cape in 2004 before Keep Them Confused followed for No Use For A Name in 2005. The band's ninth studio release, The Feel Good Record Of The Year, was recorded at the Blasting Room studio with producer Bill Stevenson and released in April 2008. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

i'm sorry that it took so long to write this song but i gave up you see one million words can't describe how it feels to know your love where did i go wrong? i should have told you from the start that i'm closer then you think when we're apart nothing that i've tried is as simple as this line but without you my life is incomplete my days are absolutely gray and so I'll try let your heart know for sure that i have so much more to tell you every single day i swear i'm giving up my inside to the one that i adore i know this world is big enough for you and i but i'll give you more i'm coming home today to wipe the tears drops from your eyes i'm totally enamored by your life nothing that i've done has ever been for one but without you my life is incomplete my days are absolutely gray and so I'll try let your heart know for sure that i have so much more to tell you every single day my life is incomplete my rights are absolutely wrong so wake me up before you leave today something i need to say cause they'll be nothing when you're gone

i heard the message i didn't get you till 1 am then i rang it off the hook who was wrong and who was right and this distance caused a fight now i'm ready to give in honestly i'd give anything right now to be with you having a good time can't you tell this town is full of dumb reminders hang up the phone and then i come back down miss you i hope you're doing well i'm used to waiting i think i'm dying without you here what's a voice without a face so i drink myself to sleep and i try to disappear and then i hide beneath the sheet i get up alive every single time 'cause you keep me this town is full of dumb reminders how far ahead from you in miles if i could get one time as take it down maybe then i could see you this town is full of dumb reminders having a good time can't you tell hang up the phone and then i come back down miss you i hope you're doing well

She was confused and abused in this life
    Emotional and violent moments

    Lyrics
She's never alone, because she's scared of what she might say to herself
Always drinking in the backroom of the bar where everyone turns in
    A half-hearted grin
She won't be afraid as long as that prescription keeps going through
And all the happy pills make her look like cardboard cut out of someone,

    Lyrics
I can't even think of words to match the way I'm feeling
I don't even think a book could say enough for you
I can only try my best, to put it in a song I guess
You try to speak, I know you tell the truth
If I could freeze our small amount of time together
