Mouth Sewn Shut (MSS) is one of the newer, more individualistic Profane Existence bands. In addition to taking the core of DIY anarcho-crust punk for which the label is loved, the Boston band also mixes in elements of reggae, rock, and classic metal as well, expanding upon vocalist Bill's and guitarist Will's previous band, Toxic Narcotic. MSS's newest album, 2007's Doomed Future Today distributed by PE and released on Rodent Popsicle, is something of a contemporary hardcore masterpiece with varied genre stylings that still remain true to the ideals and sounds of passionate, angry crust, paired with lyrics that analayze the apparent death of peace in the modern political purgatory in which we currently reside.
