Monkeys With Tools was a crossover band from Duesseldorf, Germany during the 90s.

Band members were

Petrus Fischer (dr, voc)

Grischa Bender (git, voc) and

Matty Rouse (b).

Additional musicians were producer "Herr Bert" (mixing, FX) and Dietzy Fischer (tromb.)

They played a fresh mix of Metal, Punk, Funk and Ragga - and all these elements were present in almost every song. A small "hit" in certain local clubs has been "Ratatata", a very funky song with rap-style vocals and maybe being their only song that had a style very similar to other crossover/funk metal bands during the peak of this musical development in the early nineties.

For GUN records they released three albums:

- 1992 "Sure"

- 1992 "Our secret" (limited to 5.000 copies)

- 1993 "Therein lies the compromise"

They discontinued Monkeys With Tools, but were still active under the name "Affen mit Waffen" (translated: monkeys with weapons) at least in their home town Duesseldorf. Present status is unknown and there are no albums available from "Affen mit Waffen".
