Mellonta Tauta are a shoegaze/dreampop band from Mar Del Plata, Argentina (their records are made in Italy), consisting of Leticia Solari and Daniel Lopez Quiroga. Their sound is often compared to groups from the 80's and 90's, like Cocteau Twins, Curve and My Bloody Valentine. They released their music through the extinct german label Hyperium, which specialized in the ethereal, darkwave, goth and EBM genres. Mellonta Taunta have released only one full-length album, 2 singles: Ocean -1994- and Fishes -1995- and 7 tracks for compilations, such as the argentinian tribute to The Cure.

Mellonta Tauta is also an Italian prog rock band from Padua. They released three albums, in 1981 a section of Mellonta Tauta formed Duke, a Genesis cover band.
