Biography

Mary Me were a melodic pop-punk trio hailing from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, who kicked around in the mid-1990s for a short while. The line-up was Rob Arrol (formerly of Dick Justice) on guitar and lead vocals, Todd Bell (of Braid and Hey Mercedes) on bass and back-up vocals, and Roy Ewing (also of Braid and later Very Secretary) on drums. The band name was picked from a line in the Smiths song "William It Was Really Nothing." Mary Me had a fervent local/regional following despite never having released a full length album. As Braid grew more and more popular, there was less time for Bell and Ewing to devote to Mary Me, and the band soon disbanded.
