1> A seventies rock band formed by Stephen Stills in 1971. The nucleus of the band had already backed Stills on his July 1971 album Stephen Stills 2, and in May 1972, the double-LP Manassas was released. Down the Road was released in 1973 and in September of that year the band split. Passarelli and Lala went to Stills' backing band. Harris, Perkins and Hillman joined The Souther-Hillman-Furay Band.

2> A band in existence from 2001 until 2005. The Manassas vibe has carried on under the new name of Clutter. Manassas released 2 albums: vague recollections on lost highway and live at the cavendish, both on Hypermnesis records. They have been since remastered and re-released on Earth Monkey Productions.
