Lillian Gish is an 'Avant-Gaze' / Psychedelic Noise Rock band from London, England. They are based at different times in London, Glasgow and Brighton.
Formed in December of 2007 in London, UK, Lillian Gish began as a My Bloody Valentine-obsessed Darkwave / Electropop outfit named Sunlight Machine. Eventually moving on to noisy self-dubbed 'avant-gaze' and eventually changing their name to Lillian Gish, they released This is Not an Exit in early March 2009 and, on 5th October 2011, released the psychedelic/neofolk/industrial/acid house influenced double album ...Darkly.
Shortly after the release of ...Darkly, Lillian Gish released Devas/Pretas - a live recording of their latest ritual ambient/psyche-dub sound on 21st October 2011.
In December 2011, Lillian Gish returned to their London studio to begin recording their third studio album, And Sing Do The Ghosts Of New Amsterdam.
They are based between London, Brighton and Glasgow. Adam Pollack, Mercy El and Treeline are also of the musical projects The Archetypes, l'inconnue de la seine / Black, MA and Treeline, respectively.
It should be made clear that this band is NOT affiliated in any way with the band Pull My Daisy, who originally were at one point called Lillian Gish.
