Biography
Leisha Hailey was born on July 11th 1971 in Okinawa, Japan. She grew up in Bellevue, Nebraska where she attended Bellevue West High school. She also played the lead in a school production of "Oliver". She came out as a teenager and moved to New York, where she later graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1991. She then formed The Murmurs with a former classmate, Heather Grody. In the 90's the band moved to Los Angeles and released some albums. Leisha was romanticaly involved with k.d.lang for several years in the 90's, who also produced many of the Murmurs songs. Leisha was also the inspiration for k.d.lang's 2000 album "Invincible Summer". By 2001 Leisha and Heather had changed the name of their duo to Gush and picked up a second guitarist, Jon Skibic, a dummer Brad Casselden and bass player Dave Doyle. Gush has now broken up but Leisha is still writing songs and hopes to do work with Heather Grody again at some point. Leisha also has her own record label Marfa Records.

Leisha Hailey has started another band called "Uh Huh Her" with Camila Grey and Alicia Warrington. They havent put anything out to the public yet but are working hard on their songs.
Leisha is also an actress and is probly best known for playing bisexual journalist Alice Pieszecki on Showtimes The L Word. She has also had parts in Yoplait adverts, had small part in the coming out episode of "Ellen", and been in several movies. All Over Me (1997), Sleeping Beauties (1999), Size 'Em Up (2001) and The Snowflake Crusade (2002).
