Landspeedrecord! started mid-'96, as a combination of two Baltimore, Maryland punk bands, Octopus & Glazeride. Charles Jamison from Octopus, Thomas and Marc from Glazeride.

Over the years Landspeedrecord! has gone through many keyboard players and guitarists (to see a past list of members go here: http://www.landspeedrecord.net/simplemainstuff/bio/bio.htm) . With all the member changes they have managed to be spared the drummer issues that many other bands endure.

The current line-up (2008) is:

Charles Jamison - vocals, guitar

Ron Spencer - guitar, vocals

Thomas Stehr - Bass

Marc Berrong - Drums

Landspeedrecord! is one of those bands that can be described as genre-less, but for lack of anywhere else to put them they often end up in the 'post-punk' category.

Over the years they have been compared to:

Dismemberment Plan, Wire, XTC, At the Drive In, Archers of Loaf, Skeleton Key, Q and Not U, Ween, Weezer, Nirvana, Devo, the Clash, the Talking Heads, Fugazi, Juno, Oingo Boingo and on and on...

Landspeedrecord! isn't a 'touring' band. The members often joke that they only do a show every 8 months, but with families and adult lives to keep on track no one can really hold it against them. With their live performances so scattered the energy is quickly visible from the audience if you are privileged enough to catch one of their shows.

They are constantly writing, constantly creating, and admit to having mounds of unreleased material in their closet.

Landspeerecord! is currently working on their seventh full-length release to be available upon completion, date unknown.
