Biography

Kim English is an African American electronica and house music singer born in Chicago, Illinois. She has experienced a great deal of success on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts, beginning in the mid-nineties and continuing into the 21st century. Her first chart entry came in 1995 and was a minor hit ("I Know a Place," number thirty-two). Between 1999 to 2007, she scored eight hit singles in a row that hit the top two, five of those went to number one: "Unspeakable Joy", "Missing You", "Bumpin' and Jumpin'", "Everyday" and "Treat Me Right", "It Makes A Difference", "C'est La Vie" and "My Destiny." Most of them have received moderate to high rotation on Rhythmic/Dance format radio stations. The "Higher Things" album also features an excellent cover of Anita Baker's hit song, "Been So Long."
