A mélange of exotic rhythms, sounds, ideas, and energies, exuberantly expressed through one being - Joy lives!

Joy was born into this life on the enchanting Caribbean island of Barbados. She spent her childhood shape shifting between the divergent cultures of Barbados and Germany, learning quickly how to adapt to different languages, cultures and worlds. Joy spent years developing her talents as a classically trained singer, dancer and actor.

Vocally, Joy resonates most with jazz, neo-soul, reggae, and trip-hop. Her smooth vocals and vibrant stage presence combine to create scintillating experience for her audience. Joy's body loves to move to the rhythms of the Caribbean, but she can still twirl in the vernacular of Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern dance. Everyday, she continues to discover infinite possibilities for the greatness of embodiment. Joy shares this energy in performance, in coaching and in being.

Joy is a gypsy woman of magnitude. She has been called "The Boundless Bedouin". While living in New York City , Joy defied gravity, dancing all over the United States with the Urban Bush Women - a bold and life affirming dance theater ensemble. In Los Angeles, Joy crooned jazz standards with the Verdugo Swing Society - a long-standing 17-piece big band. In New England, Joy created innovative and progressive choreopoems with Chrysalis Theatre - a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary performance ensemble. In Munich, Joy moved the masses in nightclubs and music festivals, infusing German nightlife with her vocal expression and electrifying movement. In Miami Beach, Joy offers a taste of paradise, singing at the famous Fontainebleau Hilton.

Along the journey, Joy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Psychology, graduating with highest honors from Smith College. Joy also earned a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
