James Bay

0 Shouts   -   7,267,898 Scrobbles

James Bay (born 4 September 1990) is an artist who possesses that untarnished strain of talent that many newcomers lose as they develop over time. His raw expressions and graveled voice work in a magical unison that captivates audiences and strips pop melodies back to a skeletal efficiency. Hailing from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, James is a young singer-songwriter who has already gained a great reputation thanks to stints at Communion's monthly night at Notting Hill Arts Club in London and a hugely successful run of support slots with Tom Odell, John Newman and Kodaline. He issued his debut EP, The Dark of the Morning, in 2013, with a second extended player, Let It Go, and a third extended player, Hold Back the River, arriving the following year. Tried to keep you close to me
    But life got in between
Tried to square not being there
But think that I should have been
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes

From walking home and talking loads
Seeing shirts in evening clothes with you
From nervous touch and getting drunk
To staying up and waking up with you
Now we're slipping near the edge

    I'm halfway gone, sleepless I'm battle-worn
And you're all I want, so bring me the dawn
I need the sun to break, you've woken up my heart
I'm shaking, oh my luck could change
Been in the dark for weeks and I've realized you're all I need
Need the Sun to Break  -  382,210 plays
Saw you today after so much time
It felt just like it used to be
Talking for hours about a different life
    Surrounded us in memories
We were close, never close enough
If You Ever Want to Be in Love  -  443,322 plays
Drifting apart, getting harder to hold you
Days getting dark and the nights are growing cold
    Are we burning out?
Swept out of sight, rolling out on an ocean
Let's cut all the ropes and get lost in the moment
