In Ruin is a dark folk act created as a way to express more somber and delicate acoustic compositions. Musical influences are rooted deeply in the "neo-" or "apocalyptic" folk genre. The lyrics delve into the realms of nature, emotions and history. As of 2012, work continues toward a new album. Some tentative new song titles include "Vespers," "Thrones," "Angels - Our Demons," "Passus Sum" and "I Drown." In Ruin also appeared on 2010's "Manifest Destiny" compilation album.
