Imaginary Airship is an experimental indie pop band from Portland, Oregon. The band formed in 2006 and began to acquire a devoted fan base across the Northwest with their unique mixture of instrumental “soundscapes” and more traditional pop songs. Stylistically, the band combines disparate elements from indie rock, brit-pop, shoegaze, jazz, electronic, orchestral music, acoustic, and psychedelic rock to create audio collages that cross the boundaries of time and genre.

The current lineup consists of Jonathan Moore on guitar and vocals, David Turel on bass guitar, Josh Fair on organ, synthesizer and piano, and Joe Matlock on drums. Guest appearances at shows are common and the band has been known to utilize unusual instruments like the Theremin and Mellotron.
