Torn from the map of Michigan
And folded in this scrap of paper
Is a land I grew in
Think of every town you've lived in
- LyricsI should wake up this town
My heart's on fire
Main road and no one's around
As the flames climb higher
I have been here before
- LyricsSomeone's waving
There's fifty dollars on this pony
Chase him down these tracks
- LyricsWhen I was drinking
When I was with you
Living it up when the rent was due
With nothing and no one to live up to
You and me dying on the vine
- LyricsYou ain't gonna get me honey no way
Tearing down the highway in the pouring rain
Escaping from my wedding day
I heard the bells ringing in the local church
The ceremony's nearly under way
