Formed in 1983 by guitarist and singer-songwriter Ace Frehley after his departure from hard rock group KISS, Frehley's Comet provided a platter of arena-made 80s rock tunes before folding, perhaps never breaking into the mainstream quite as they could have. Along with Richie Scarlet (guitars, vocals), John Regan (bass) and Anton Fig (drums), demos were recorded and soon a contract was signed. The self-titled debut album was finally released in 1987, and, by that time, Richie Scarlet had been replaced by Tod Howarth. Spawing the top 30 rock hit "Into The Night", that successful album was followed by the live EP 'Live +1' and later by the full length studio album 'Second Sighting' in 1988. Anton Fig had a full-time gig with the Late Night with David Letterman studio band, and he had been replaced by Jamie Oldaker on drums.
