Freedom1 have changed their name to "New Empire" (http://www.last.fm/music/New+Empire)

Freedom1 is an upcoming fresh pop rock band from southern Sydney, Australia.

The four members that make up Freedom1 are:

Jez Fowler - Lead vocals/piano/guitar

Pete Gillies - Guitar

Sam Walker - Bass guitar

Kale Kneale - Drums/Backing vocals

The boys formed together in late 2005 and since then have enjoyed experimenting with different musical styles to achieve their unique sound.

The Christian-based band have named some of their musical influences as being Switchfoot, Copeland, Coldplay, Anberlin, Leeland and Relient K.

Their music, while ranging from light acoustic to heavier rock, is consistent in maintaining flowing melodies, honest lyrics, intricate guitar work and a solid rhythm section.

As Freedom1 have gained more recognition they have been given the opportunity to play at many concerts and festivals, such as the prestigious Black Stump christian music and arts festival and Big Exo Day, among many others.

The band have released two 5 track singles to date, the first being "Here For A Reason" and the second being "Hero".

Although a relatively new band, Freedom1 already have gained a very strong fan base, and as they continue progressing in their music it is clear that they have a lot of potential to expand and become a big name in the music industry.
