What the heck is an Elbo Finn: a quick, abridged, and temporally enumerated history of an unsigned band.
Josh’s Dad gave him a 1969 Martin guitar. Josh wrote a song. Josh met Circus Brown. Circus had some drugs. Josh and Circus became friends.
Circus had a friend named Jayson. Jayson came to a party and drank a whole shit load of beer. Jayson threw up. Josh and Jayson became friends.
Jayson told Josh that he could sing like that dude in Led Zeppelin. Josh and Jayson wrote some songs.
Josh wore a Cure T-shirt. Jake wore a Cure t-shirt. They had no choice, Josh and Jake become friends.
Jake had a purple mohawk and said he could play a yellow bass. Jake joined the band.
Josh, Jason, and Jake played music at Josh’s parents house. It was too loud and they were asked to leave.
Josh, Jason, and Jake got a studio at “Positively 4th Street” in downtown SLC. It was underneath an overpass. It used to be a punk club. It used to be a punk record shop. There were a ton of crackheads and homeless people. But no one complained about the noise.
Some drummers tried out; they were late or drunk or bad. One of them had a mullet.
Josh went camping in the desert. Maurice went camping in the desert. Maurice had a bongo drum. Maurice joined the band.
Josh, Jayson, Jake, and Maurice called the band Elbo Finn. Elbo Finn played at a music fest in Provo and Orem. Elbo Finn played a song about marijuana. Someone turned off the power and asked Elbo Finn to leave. It was a promising start.
Elbo Finn practiced at Maurice’s parent's house. It was too loud and they were asked to leave.
Elbo Finn returned to Positively Fourth Street. There were still a butt load of crackers and vagrants. But still, no one complained about the noise.
Elbo Finn tried to make a pan of hash. They wrote a song about it and released Thimble & The Wheel.
Elbo Finn left Positively Fourth Street and started recording at Maurice’s place in Sugarhouse. They spent time in the desert. They wrote a song about it and release Cryptogamy Kills Cowboy.
They still practiced at Maurice’s house. It was too loud and the cops were called, numerous times and they were asked to leave. They return to Positively Fourth Street. They hung a bottle of liquor from the window. Bums threw rocks at them. But still no one complained about the noise.
Elbo Finn bought an old untrustworthy motor home. They went on tour. They broke down in Las Vegas; In Los Angeles; In San Fransisco; In Iowa. They wrote a song about it and release Reservoirs of Goodness.
The band played spring break on a house boat. The owner of Holy Cow had a sombrero full of mushrooms. The cops were called. Maurice threw up. Josh couldn’t stop laughing. Jayson got laid. Jake went to jail.
Elbo Finn’s studio engineer was arrested and went to jail. Elbo Finn played a show in Murray, Utah. Elbo Finn was arrested for playing music without a license. Elbo Finn becomes the first (and only?) band to be kicked out of Positively Fourth Street.
Elbo Finn moved to Portland, Oregon. They wrote a song about it and released SW 58th.
They played some shows. They played the Olympics. They wrote a songe about it and released a live album: Making Music in Bobsleds.
Elbo Finn went “on hiatus.”

Jake had a kid. Jayson got married. Josh went to school. Maurice started a business.

Josh, Jayson, and Maurice got back together. They played an ugly tie party. It was fun.
Michael played bass for a band called Six Foot Sam. Six Foot Sam broke up. Michael played bass for a band called Purusa Purusa broke up. Michael had a kick ass beard. Michael joined Elbo Finn.
They start recording a new album. They practice at The Book Warehouse. No one complains about the noise.
