As well as having remixes of both Bon Iver (‘Hinnom, TX’ Remix featured on the Spotify Bon Iver Stems Project release) and Local Natives recognized and shared by the original artists, Ed has also released a remix EP of his 2013 single ‘Oxblood’, featuring, among others, a remix by TWYNS, Ed’s own separate electronic project. Along with his new solo record, Ed’s current work includes a collaboration with burgeoning alternative-folk artist Novo Amor, for a single to be released in June 2014 together by Dumont Dumont (RY X) and Norway-based label Brilliance Records, the pair also working together on more material for a full-length.
Ed’s new record, which he considers his real debut, sees him showcasing his own natural progression from the influences of modern melodic folk, alternative R&B, and post-dubstep elements. On it, Ed creates an often huge, gloomy sound, dripping in glistening falsetto and gorgeous harmonies, poetically complex and affecting.
