1) Doll is a Japanese group.
2) Doll is a four-piece grunge-based rock band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, fronted by the vocal duo of Christina (vox, guitars) and Julie-Anne (vox, bass). They have been inspired by bands such as Sonic Youth and L7, aswell as new additions to the scene Magneta Lane and Die Mannequin.
Doll has been playing shows extensively throughout Canada. They have had the chance to play with many bands such as, Spinnerette, Danko Jones, The Clicks, SNFU, Jucifer, Genitorturers, Lacuna Coil, The Creepshow, Die Mannequin and more.
Most recently has proven a great time for Doll in gaining exposure and greater media coverage, specifically winning the Live 88.5 Big Money Shot Round 3. Their debut music video for Daddy's Little Girl was featured on musiqueplus.com and is currently on rotation on Much Music Loud and its respective websites.
They've also been featured in a Viscious Videos DVD documentary on Fashion in Germany for their song "Pick Up Your Gun", while "Sally Lost Her Shoelaces" has landed them a song on the Punk Kills v6 compilation through 272 Records aswell as becoming the theme song of popular internet television site ImWithTheBand.com.
Doll is currently promoting their debut album "Inside The Dollhouse" recorded by Steve Foley of Audio Valley Studio's and mastered by Jason Fee from Conduction Mastering. It was released April 10th, 2009. The album was nominated for Best Rock album of 2009 by the Ottawa Xpress.
