Dimi Mint Abba is the first famous Mauritanian artist. She sings traditional and modern songs. She has a specific way of singing where, for instance, she sings the poetry of Nizar Kabani with Sedum. (who is another important Mauritanian artist) She sings in Arabic and Hassania. She is considered by many to be the best Mauritanian singer right now.
