Czech experimental post-punk band Der Marabu (until 1990 Marabu) was established in 1986 by three musicians: composer and keyboard player Vladimír Hirsch, drummer Josef Škoda and bass guitarist Tomáš Hadrava. With guitarist Janis Georgiu joining the line up, Marabu puts together a concert program performed for the first time with the singer Samír Hauser (Bruno Ferrari) in 1987. In 1990-1994, the band was formed by Vladimír Hirsch - keyboards, vocal, bass, Josef Škoda - drums, Michael Kureš - guitar. Iin 1994 the singer Martina Sanollová joined the band together with second guitarist Miroslav Ondrýsek and bass guitarist Karel Janků. With many breaks and personal changes the formation continues to perform in independent clubs of Prague till 1996 and does some concerts abroad as well. (Der) Marabu was initially influenced by post-punk (demo recording Marabu I.), from 1990 it declares itself as „dark-core“ band (recordings "1991" and "Dead Music"), towards the end of its existence as „slavonic dark core“. In 1993, the band recorded the album "Cruci-Fiction" to get done with its existence one year later with a studio project "All Of Us Will Fall Away". The one and only man to be in the band for the whole time, Vladimír Hirsch, establishes afterwards (autumn 1995) together with the singer Martina Sanollová a Tom Saivon a new formation Skrol.
