Dave Norris & Local Ivan is an alt-folk/pop-rock band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a project headed by singer/songwriter Dave Norris. The band's debut full-length album Alma Mater (2011) is a big-sounding affair; loud drums and heavy harmonies. Lyrically, Norris sings about some of the more ethereal things, like sound, and light, and the popular arts, declaring in the title track "Maybe that's all there is!"
