He was in the 'Over 25's' category and was mentored by Dannii Minogue. He repeatedly received criticism from both Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh throughout his run in the show, but Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles started a campaign urging listeners to vote for the widowed father.
