Biography
Band formed in 2004 in Mexico City. Their name comes from the famous poem "Un Voyage à Cythère" in Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal. Cyteres are: Laura (vocalist), Paco (bassist), Mario (guitarist) and Fabien (drummer). All four have been involved in other independent Mexican bands (Maldoror, Moebius, Sarcoma de Kaposi, and Flor Nocturna, respectively). With influences from goth, post-punk and dream pop, Cyteres creates sounds to express situations and feelings based on concepts such as existence, individuality, subjectivity, and all the conflicts which arise from these. Their first EP titled "Un viaje a Cyteres" was released in the summer of 2006.
