Crashing Metropolis is an alt-rock band from Pittsburgh, PA. The band has performed as direct support for national touring acts Sick Puppies, Egypt Central, Cinder Road, and Red. They realized early on that nothing worth having comes without a great deal of hard work. After a year of writing and rehearsing original material the band hit the studio with producer Sean McDonald (GRAPEVINE, THE CLARKS) to record their debut album I Hope I Haunt You.
I Hope I Haunt You promises to be one of the most refreshing rock albums of the year. In the tradition of bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Seether the album will include an arsenal of heart-pounding, fist-pumping songs that will capture the attention of anyone who hears it. In addition to crowd favorites “It Won’t be Long,” “Bite your Tongue,” and “Wasted,” I Hope I Haunt You will include a number of new tracks like the spiritually motivated “Cold Hard Rain,” the crowd participation anthem “Green,” the never-say-die “To Be Sure,” and finally the tongue-in-cheek “Sugar” which plays on the old saying “when life hands you lemons.”
The title track of the album, and potentially one of the most poignant songs on the disc, “I Hope I Haunt You” tells the story of relationships gone wrong. All good rock albums come from pain and suffering, however, this song takes a somewhat different approach. Unlike typical break-up songs, the bands lyricist and lead vocalist Mike Geary certainly isn’t longing for a heart felt reunion. The chorus asks for no such reconciliation “I hope I haunt you. Everywhere you go and everything you do. Every moment, every day since you’ve driven me away.”
I Hope I Haunt You is the light at the end of the tunnel for Crashing Metropolis. The album will take the listener on a journey the band has been travelling since its inception. The lyrics tell the story while the music lights the way. The tracks on the album appear in the order in which they were written to illustrate the story.
