1. Based in San Francisco, Control K is the solo project of Kevin Crouse. Merging a love of early nineties hip-hop and indie rock, the songs are a mixture of breakbeats, hushed vocals and spiraling guitars. Kevin plays drums in LSD and the Search for God & The Drogues and keyboards/loops in Shakes Gown.
2. Control K is the work of British-born electronic musician Dom Pates, aka globalism, who also sings with Tokyo's Shelf Life.
Begun in 2001 and inspired by artists such as The Orb, KLF and the ambient house movement, the first fruits saw light of day on the 2005 debut release 'The Front Line (Redux)', which included extracts from the Japanese Constitution and London's marchers again the Iraq War amidst the beats.
Subsequent releases have included 'Rokkasella (New Clear Mix), a remix of a Ryuichi Sakamoto track, and 'Change', a musical synopsis of the 2008 US Presidential Election.
A second album is scheduled to enter production following the next Shelf Life release.
