This is when Click Box was formed; an electronic music project derived from techno and house music, based on minimal constructions. Click Box produces music which is constant and with a limited number of simultaneous elements, conveing at times feelings of extreme tension or relaxation, experimenting timbres and rythms, resulting in a vanguard, futuristic and conceptual work, while always keeping an eye on the dance floor.
Pedro and Marco are not newcomers to the Brazilian electronic music scene -- Marco was one of the founders of live act Influx which lasted for 9 years and was one of the pioneering live electronic music bands in Brazil. Marco has remixed brazilian artists such as Jota Quest, Fernanda Abreu, Marina Lima and the sound track of the film "City of God" - as well as the sound track for "The Sixth Element", which tells the story of surfer Ross Clarke Jones.
Pedro has been performing as DJ for over 10 years, having played alongside world-leading DJs. He also organizes an itinerant venue called "Crib" as well as the "Higher Spirit" rave to which he has brought DJs like Asad Risvi and Phil Stumpf (duplex 100), among others.
During their live performances, which last on average one hour but may take up to two hours, Click Box mix live synthesizers, laptops, effects and turntables, in seamless transitions, keeping the dancefloor going just like a DJ set but with the added spontaneity of a live music performance.
Marco and Pedro's partnership has led to the digital EP "Dirty Space", released on the Internet by American label Ingrooves, which is specialized in digital releases. The EP containing the tracks "Dirty Space" and "Desafinados" is available at www.beatport.com and itunes, the world's largest online music stores. During its first week "Dirty Space" ranked #3 in the top 10 downloads of the minimal music section.
The track "R2D2" is featured on the CD compilation from the "Sunday Away" party in Sao Paulo, mixed by DJ George Actv. German DJ Phil Stumpf, of Duplex 100 Project, and with whom Pedro and Marco have had the pleasure of performing, has introduced several Click Box tracks to European dancefloors. Another Click Box track will soon be featured on MTV Brazil's "Amp Techno" CD compilation.
