There are four artists called Cecil, one is Japanese, one is from Liverpool, one is from Sydney, Australia & the other is from New Jersey: Liverpool's "Cecil" - Formed in Liverpool in 1993 by Ste Williams (vocals), Patrick Harrison (guitar), Ally Lambert (drums), Anthony Hughes (guitar), and Jay Bennet (bass). They took part in a Liverpool Echo sponsored(?) Battle Of The Bands. This brought them to the attention of EMI sub Parlophone Recs who released their 1st single 'No Excuses/Upside Down Smile' (R 6418) in October 1995.
