A Vermont native now based in New York City, Caitlin spent her early years working on the production side of live music and singing backup for more established artists while quietly cultivating her own music. After finally escaping the cubicle, Caitlin swung around to the other side of the microphone and now performs regularly in coffeehouses, rowdy bars, restored theaters, music halls and festivals. Her fans compare her soothing, intimate voice and soulful songs to the likes of Patty Griffin, Jack Johnson, and Norah Jones. Prior to her latest album, Neon Streets (2010), Caitlin independently produced several EPs and one full-length album, Green (2007), which she recorded and mixed in her home studio.

Neon Streets

Caitlin’s latest album Neon Streets, co-produced by the string-rock band Darlingside, is a rich and expansive follow-up to her debut album. Warm and vibrant arrangements featuring Darlingside’s cello, mandolin, guitars, drums, and harmonies bloom around Caitlin’s vocally driven songs. This collaboration between singer/songwriter and gifted multi-instrumentalists produces a dynamic spectrum of songs – from the driving groove and full band production of Halo, to the exposed voices and acoustic guitar of the intimate and sleepy Carried Away.

The seven-song album was engineered and mixed by Sam Kapala (also the drummer for Darlingside) at Oxbow Records and mastered by Tony Gillis at the Cutting Room. The lush illustration and handmade album design by Cara Sutherland of Running Double Creative includes block-printing by Caitlin. Neon Streets is the first in a series of four collaborative EPs Caitlin plans to release throughout 2010-11.
