From January to July 2006, Japanese experimental rock group Boris recorded the LP Rainbow with Japanese guitarist Michio Kurihara from Tokyo, who has played in psychedelic rock outfits such as White Heaven, The Stars, Ghost and Yura Yura Teikoku. The album is more song-based than much of Boris' more experimental output, more laid back than their rock output and features Wata (guitarist) and Takeshi (guitar / bass guitar) on vocals. It was released on CD on December 26th 2006 on Pedal Records in Japan and in 2007 on Drag City records in the US. A box set with a photo book, extra 2 track vinyl LP and DVD was released on Inoxia Records in Japan on June 9th 2007. An LP in a similar style by Boris featuring some cover versions and vocals from Wata is due later in 2007.
