Bob Bryar (born Robert Cory Bryar) was born on 31 December 1979 in Chicago, Illnois. He went to school at Eisenhower Junior High in Darien, Illnois where he played the drums in symphonic and jazz bands. After, he went to Downers Grove South high school.

He later went to university at Gainesville, Florida and has also worked at Disneyland. He became friends with members of My Chemical Romance whilst working as an engineer for The Used.
