Bland is a four piece alternative/indie rock band based out of Martinsburg/Charlestown, West Virginia. In an area where the music scene is primarily made up of new metal or punk rock, this group chose to focus more on melodies and song writing, rather than playing music just for live energy. Founded in 2001, Bland's members include:

Joni Mason ((drums)); Jeremy McDonald ((vocals/guitar)); Josh McDonald ((vocals/bass)); Jeremiah Pepper ((vocals/guitar)).

These up and coming musicians have played many shows in the states of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. They have performed on "Backstage Pass", the cable access show located in Frederick, Maryland. They have also been played on Shepherd University's radio station WSHC 89.7. Bland has shared the stage with Sugarcult, Stroke9, The Bangkok Five, Jealousy Curve, and Karmellas Game, along with many other local and regional acts.

In November 2005, Bland won the Battle for Shepfest, which is a competition that consisted of 11 bands. Over 300 people attended and voted at this event. Bland received the greatest amount of votes and was declared the winner. Shepfest, an annual festival that is held at Shepherd University, has booked major label acts such as rapper, Nelly and alternative rock band, Fuel. Winning the Battle for Shepfest gave Bland a secure slot on the Shepfest bill. They opened for Sugarcult on April 30, 2006

According to the the May/June 2006 issue of the nationally printed "Synthesis Magazine", "this band absolutely has potential" and "the songwriter definitely have talent." Bland has written and recorded two full-length albums titled "Vanity Wastebasket" and "Seasons." They have sold over several copies of each CD. The group has also put forth numerous demo efforts. With their newly

recorded album "Seasons," Bland is looking to branch out and support it.
