Bim Shermant or Lloyd Jarrett Vincent (⋆ 2 Feb1950 in Westmoreland, Jamaica, đ by cancer in the age 50 in London, UK, 17 November 2000), was a musician and singer-songwriter. Mainly devoted into roots reggae, he found his own style into this sub-genre. His music developed in many directions, with a mix of influences from a number of countries except Jamaica, notably India. Sherman was also one of the handful singers who was hailed with the exclamation mark "reggae's sweetest voice". which can be heard in songs, among others, as "Lovers Leap", "Golden Locks", "Earth People", "My Woman", Must Be A Dream. In London, where he moved in early 80s, he became a part of infatuation between post-punk and reggae there. His album Across The Red Sea has musical similarities with e.g. UB40's first album Signing Off. He also made a name for himself recording with producer Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound label. He became part of musical collectives associated with On-U Sound, such as New Age Steppers (alongside Ari Up), Singers & Players (with Congo Ashanti Roy and the late Prince Far-I), Dub Syndicate and Justice League of Zion.
