Big Tree is an angular pop band for naturalists at heart. Good friends Kaila McIntyre-Bader, Luke Bace, Colin Fahrner, and Dan Pirello tap into organic folk, greasy blues, ambient rock and modal jazz. Big Tree has shared the stage with Pomegranates, Deer Tick, Megafaun, Akron/Family, and OneRepublic. Big Tree celebrated their June 2010 title of NYC Deli Magazine Band of the Month, and had a successful release of their Home(here) EP last summer.

Brought together by the excitement and challenge of studying jazz in college, Big Tree’s musical product is hard to categorize, yet immediately appealing: infectious pop music splashed with colorful harmonies, driven by pulsing rhythms, unique time signatures, group vocals, and poetic quirky imagery.

Big Tree produced its first full-length self-titled album in summer 2008, after much success playing New York City. Recording at homes, apartments, and studios in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, the eleven tracks balance polished recording with genuine energy, evidenced by natural sounds of birds outside and the rain hitting the roof of Luke’s screened in porch. Following its release, Big Tree toured the West Coast extensively, recording a Daytrotter Session along the way. Big Tree made their way out to California last summer on their national 2010 Home(here) Tour, with a vegetable oil tour van purchased with the fundraising help of fans. The band played 30 successful shows in 30 different cities across the nation including Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles, leaving a trail of blissful celebration in its wake.

Now growing roots on both the East and West Coasts, the band is back in New York and getting ready to release a second full length album titled "This New Year".
