Charming listeners with her sultry-sweet voice, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Belinda Bruce made her debut on the music scene in 2005 with the much-loved chamber-folk enchantment Dream Yourself Awake (Maximum/Universal), which received international praise and a few domestic award nominations. New Music Canada called it “an astounding labor of love.”

"Waltzing from plucky folk to a more electric rootsy twang, Belinda formed a new outfit called The Tawny Stars with some of Vancouver’s best musicians. Now an alt-country queen, she released her celebrated sophomore album The Good Life (Bee-Side) in 2007. “[The] songs explore a world of thrift shops, cheap apartments, blackouts and bruised hearts, and the languid, world-weary feel of Bruce’s vocals bring them to authentic life.” —Exclaim!

Belinda is currently assembling a new album of folk-pop gems with a stellar posse of Vancouver musicians and producer Jon Wood (Cam Penner, Dave Newberry, Chariots of Eggs, Rodney Decroo, Herald Nix, Trucker’s Memorial).
