Biography

Bayside formed in the winter of 2000 and developed a quick following with their melodic, moody, guitar-driven emo. They soon left their native Queens, New York and hit the road, sharing stages across the United States with bands like Alkaline Trio, Taking Back Sunday, and Further Seems Forever. The band's first release, the Long Stories Short EP, was released by the local Dying Wish Records in August 2001. Touring continued throughout the following year, including festival slots at the Skate and Surf Fest in Asbury, Furnace Fest in Birmingham, and a two-week stint with the warped tour.

    Lyrics
Tryin' to create somethin' that's not there
A spark I saw and a bomb is just a means to an end
And I was just so happy to be out of my shell again
I don't think that I really cared for who or what
So for now I'll just have to keep it shut

    Lyrics
Pound my knuckles hard against the floor
My head against the wall but I did this to myself
Assume it's just not worth getting back up
So, I'll blame it on bad luck and I'll shake responsibility and
I spent some time in a bad place at 18

    Lyrics
    It's getting cold
Thought it was too soon to tell
    But it was terribly old
And now the heartbeat slows to a heartless crawl
    The lights went out

  4.
    Lyrics
    Some days, I get crazed
    I don't know why it's all relevant
    I'll take deep breaths
    And keep control, go on
I've tried brave and you've tried to save

  5.
    Lyrics
    My friend
You're always the last one to leave those dimly lit rooms
Making sure the last glass makes its way to the table empty
And every bottle in the place
Has been upside down at least a few times what a waste
