Through his powerful music and heartful lyrics, Brother Ayouba, originaly hailing from the Ivory Coast, strives to raise the consciousness of the African people. He hopes to give voice to the voiceless who suffer the daily injustices of:

Corrupt politicians who divert funds meant to combat poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease, instead siphoning them into their own expense accounts.

Former colonizing powers who continue to exploit Africa's rich natural resources, which could otherwise serve as a source of revenue for what could be a self-sufficient continent.

Their own colonized mentalities which disable them from recognizing the strength and beauty of their own cultural heritage and instead lead to a collective, debilitating sense of cultural inferiority.

While Ayouba speaks to the heart of the African nations, he also serves as a cultural bridge and messenger from the United States. His music is undoubtedly informed by his years living in the U.S. For instance his latest album, Treading, is dedicated to an American friend, Joanna Vidal, who perished in the World Trade Center tragedy, and many of the songs of this album (as well as the album cover) reverberate with sad reflections provoked by 9/11, as wellas by wars and devastation in various corners of the world.
