Allen Woody was an accomplished bassist/musician who formed the rock-powerhouse Gov't Mule along with guitarist Warren Haynes and drummer Matt Abts. Allen had played with Warren Haynes in the early '90s lineup of The Allman Brothers Band. This jam-band friendship was the basis for Gov't Mule which became Allen's main focus in the last years of his life. Warren and Matt, along with an army of famous bass players (Bootsy Collins, Jack Bruce, Bob Weir and many others) released a 2-volume collection in 2001 and 2002.
