À Rebours is an upstate NY band. The sound draws from a palette of indie rock, goth, shoegaze and progressive elements. Members include Ian Stone (founder) on vocals and guitars, Ryan Holmes on bass, Nathan McDowell on drums and Honkus on live synth and additional percussion.

À Rebours' debut album, "Vanish" was released in September of 2007. It received good reviews in alternative magazines and online 'zines and has received airplay all over the world. A second album, "The Parliament of Rooks" is currently in production.

Members of the band cite a multitude of influences from a wide variety of genres. Although the music has a distinctly dark rock edge to it, pieces of classical, jazz, new age, darkwave, electro, old-school goth, and progressive metal all seem to collide into a cohesive whole.

À Rebours is signed to Final Joy, an indie label out of Phoenix, AZ which also includes the goth band, Reliquary.
