The Pittsburgh, PA native first came to popular attention in the mid 90s as one of the first respected producers of American Drum N' Bass. She later became famous for her status as a transgender woman having undergone sexual reassignment surgery in 1998. She left the US for Britain in 2000 after a transphobic hate attack outside a nightclub in Kent,OH.
