Biography
Yui Asaka (浅香唯, Asaka Yui, born 4 December 1969 in Miyazaki, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese actress and popular J-Pop singer in the 1980's. She became famous by starring in the third series of cult manga Sukeban Deka in 1987, then again as the heroine of the popular manga "Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl" in its 1989 live movie adaptation. But her career was stopped by her agency in 1993, which stated she could only return to show-biz a few years later, first as "YUI" (not YUI), then with her full name. She was married in 2002, and gave birth to a girl in 2007.
