Mai Hoshimura (星村麻衣, born April 18, 1981 in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, Japan), is a Japanese artist currently under the Sony Music Japan label. She writes and composes all of her music. She is known for her famous standing crouched stance while playing the piano.

She began playing the piano at the tender age of four, her mother hoping she would become a classical musician while her father influenced her with his fondness for popular music. During her high school years Mai established that she wanted to become a professional musician. As an artist, Mai pens all her lyrics and composes all her songs, she has also coined her own personal brand of music known as 'piano-rock.'

Mai Hoshimura made her major debut in 2002 with her single 'Stay With You' on October 23rd.
