Even though UK pop songstress Rita Ora has been signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label ever since 2009, she still hasn’t broken it big in the North American music market. Overseas, she’s had hits with the singles “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.,” but the US is still warming up to the R&B singer. So, even though Rita’s prepping her second studio album, set for a January 2015 release, it will feel like her first for the Western audience of the world.

Talking to Billboard about her official US debut, Ora reveals that she’s working with DJ/producer Diplo, and also has a project with superstar Prince. Her single “I Will Never Let You Down” was written by her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, so there’s a bit of bad blood with the song, but Rita’s sounding pumped to put out the currently-untitled LP. “It’s tight, it’s clean, it’s not confusing,” she states in the piece about her compilation of tracks.
