Scandals, celebrity, grime and glamour all mould together when it comes to Los Angeles. For decades it’s been filled with the kind of parties your mother told you to avoid, but still it pull in generation after generation of the young  and impressionable.

Which is alright by us! From punk to hip-hop some of the freshest acts in the music scene have sprung from LA’s seedy basement bars. We’ve got a little retrospective this week, with some of the best and brightest of the 00’s on review entirely for free.

From the basement to the penthouse and all the way back to the gutter, get a little taste of how the city of angels used to sound below.
