Spotlight On The Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival

The Spotlight

There might be some chill in the air (waving fists in the air at old mean Hurricane Irene), but summer festival season is not over yet. Whether you’re going to Seattle or not, check out this year’s impressive Bumbershoot lineup (Daryl Hall & John Oates anyone?). Update your music collection (did we say it’s free?), go back to school, and impress your friends with all that was hot at this year’s festival.

Aside from featuring a variety of indie music heavyweights from across the musical spectrum (Ray La Montagne & the Pariah Dogs to Wiz Khalifa and The Presidents of the United States of America), the Seattle-based Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival also includes theater, comedy, spoken word, and visual arts. Now that’s what I call entertainment.

We also heard the festival for the first time ever is including a brand new stage called Bumbershoot After Dark! curated by the fine folks at Decibel, who shortly after will be throwing their own festival (again in Seattle) celebrating a unique style of electronic music featuring artists ranging from mash-up pioneer Z-Trip to electronic experimentalist Four Tet.

This entire week, grab free songs from some of the best acts performing at this year’s Bumbershoot festival, only at MP3.com.

Today, start with “Callejon” from Puerto Rican garage-rock band Davila 666.
