San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival celebrates more than live music. Each year, festival goers are treated to some of the Bay Area’s finest in local food and California’s world-renowned wines. Respectively called Taste of the Bay Area and Wine Lands, the delectable side of Outside Lands means you can leave those packed lunches behind.
Enjoy authentic soul food from Criolla Kitchen that blends tastes from “Africa, Puerto Rico, and Louisiana” using locally grown ingredients.
Who doesn’t love frozen yogurt? How about frozen yogurt sandwiches? Yup. If you’re already foaming at the mouth, you’re not alone. Loving Cup offers just that, as well as rice pudding (a winning combination in our book).
Straw SF serves “eclectic Californian cuisine inspired by the great American carnival.” I have no idea what means, but I see a picture of waffles served with potato chips. Sold.
“Braised bacon cabbage” exists at 4505 Meats. As does “bacon studded hot dogs” and “chicken beer.” Vegetarians need not apply; carnivores, step up.
For the international inclined, take your berets to the Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant and sample the finest wines imported from France and Italy. If you are strictly “local-and-proud,” try Navarro Wines, a family-operated vineyard in the Anderson valley since 1974.
Of course, we also have free music to accompany you as you plan your dining schedule this weekend. See download links below, and get more free music from MP3.com here.
All week, MP3.com shines a Spotlight on Outside Lands. The music, food, wine, and arts festival takes place August 12th – 14th at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA.
